Peru Alarcon Family, Washed Bourbon, Subtext | 250g

The Alarcon family returns with their washed Bourbon. This year's lot is complex, sweet, and round. In the cup, we find notes of yellow plum, cola, and red apple.

La Palestina is an 11 hectare farm that sits at altitudes of about 1,700-1,800 masl in Jaén, Peru. It is owned and operated by the Alarcon family, a cornerstone of the specialty coffee growing community in San Jose de Alto. Originally founded in 1976, by Don Jose Alarcon and Doña Zobeida Coronel, they were attracted to the region by rich soil and ideal growing conditions. Today, the farm is managed by two of their sons. Subtext has been buying their Bourbon for a number of years now. In recent years, they have also planted SL9 and Gesha, and have begun experimenting with honey processing.
