The texture is light and silky, the acid is lively and bright, accompanied by a high-maturity kernel sweetness and hard candy flavor. The overall sense of uplift is extremely strong, the flavor is elegant, and the faint floral fragrance lingers at the end. This is a rare high-quality Kenyan coffee.
Ngarutua Manor was built in the 1940s and named after its founder Paul Muthathai Ngarutua. In 1958, Kenya allowed Africans to grow coffee for the first time, but at that time only 100 trees could be planted on a ten-acre farm - the restriction was lifted in 1960, and the estate gradually expanded. Today, the manor has been passed down to the third generation and is run by Peterson, the founder's grandson, and his wife Purity. Peterson is currently the director of the Kenya Planter Cooperation Alliance (representing the Kenyan Mountain Region).
