Distinctly fruity, floral, and with a silky body—that’s this Colombian coffee from Tanat Coffee. In the cup, blackberry, raspberry, black cherry, violet, and melon come together, giving the coffee a sweet, juicy, and very distinct aroma. Blackberry and raspberry bring fresh red fruit notes, black cherry adds a deeper sweetness, and violet elevates the entire profile to an elegant floral level. The acidity is higher but well-integrated into the whole; the body is silky, and the overall profile remains clean, layered, and particularly well-suited for pour-over.

The coffee comes from Colombia’s Huila region, specifically from the El Diviso farm in Pitalito, where it is grown by Nestor Lasso. He belongs to a younger generation of producers who combine family experience with technical precision and a more experimental approach to processing. Together with his brother Adrian and Jhoan Vergara from Finca Las Flores, he works with less common varieties such as Sidra, Geisha, Pink Bourbon, and Java. This lot consists of the Typica Mejorado variety, which grows at an elevation of over 1,750 meters above sea level and stands out for its delicacy, complexity, and distinctive flavor potential.

The beans were processed using the natural (dry) method. Natural processing helps highlight the sweetness, juiciness, and fuller body in the cup without the coffee losing its elegance or feeling heavy. The coffee scored 88 points and is lightly roasted for filter brewing. The result is a distinctive, clean, and aromatically rich filter coffee with flavors of blackberries, raspberries, black cherries, violets, and melon.
