Yacuri, in the far south of Ecuador, is one of the farms managed by Juan Peña, who owns and manages Hacienda La Papaya. In the last few years he expanded from La Papaya by taking over the management of 2 other farms in different regions. Juan and his team at CafExporto found incredible coffee in the rural Zamore-Chinchipe region but noticed that most of it got blended into big, lower quality lots, thus preventing the producers from adding value to their product. By taking over the Yacuri farm and bringing some of these coffees to the specialty market he is trying to change the way these coffees are perceived and sold. On top of that the community is benefiting from the growing techniques introduced by Juan as yields and product quality have increased substantially. The exhaustive seed bank of Hacienda La Papaya is only one of the major assets now available to the community.

This Sidra, a hybrid between Bourbon and Typica is super tropical yet very clean. It has the texture of nectar- style fruit juice with dominant flavours of peach and passionfruit.
