Each year Daterra explores the farm’s harvest to discover unique and excellent small lots of coffee – the Daterra Masterpieces. These masterpieces showcase the very best of Daterra’s harvest year and the latest innovative practices used in processing. This year, there were 12 lots selected and only a very small amount of each were released for auction.

We were able to secure 24 kilograms of Alfredo, an anaerobic natural lot from the Aramosa varietal. We chose to bid on this lot because of its extremely clean and refined profile and it certainly represents the pinnacle of Cerrado coffee.

The 2022 Daterra Masterpieces were inspired by the modernist movement in Brazil, with each coffee paying homage to a legendary modernist artist who portrayed the beauty and diversity of the country. Our lot is named after the painter Alfredo Volpi. The illustration was generated with artificial intelligence and represents both the flavours found in the coffee and the artist.
